Why Support Coordinators Choose FCA Reports Australia

We were built specifically for the referral partner relationship. Every part of our service — from intake to report delivery — is designed to make a Support Coordinator's day easier: fast acknowledgement, predictable turnaround, clear scope, consistent report quality and direct clinician access throughout.

Coordinators routinely tell us three things: our reports are written in NDIA language the planner can act on, our pricing is fixed and predictable, and our timelines never slip. We treat the Support Coordinator as a primary stakeholder — not an intermediary — and that shows up in how we communicate, how we document, and how we resolve clarifications.

OT-Led Assessments Across Every NDIS Pathway

Every assessment we deliver is led by an experienced AHPRA-registered Occupational Therapist with NDIS-specific training and multidisciplinary clinical oversight from our Director team. Our scope spans the full NDIS evidence stack:

Functional Capacity Assessmentscomprehensive FCA, Autism FCA, Psychosocial FCA, Neurological FCA, Intellectual Disability FCA, Physical Disability FCA.

Home & Living evidenceSIL with costed Roster of Care, SDA design-category reports, ILO Stage 1 and Stage 2, STA assessments.

Focused evidence reportsAT assessments, plan review reports, Letters of Support for equipment, housing and therapy.

Australia-Wide Secure Telehealth — No Postcode Limits

We deliver every assessment by secure telehealth — Zoom, Teams or phone where required. There are no travel fees, no postcode surcharges and no wait-list variability between cities and remote communities. Whether your participant is in inner-Sydney or remote NT, the timeline, price and clinician experience are identical.

Where the participant lives with significant communication, sensory or cognitive impairment, we split sessions, accommodate AAC and interpreter participation at no extra cost, and adapt the assessment format to the participant's profile.

5-Business-Day Turnaround Guarantee

From the final clinical interview, every report is issued within 5 business days — guaranteed. We have built our entire scheduling, drafting and peer-review workflow around this commitment, and we have not missed it.

Every report comes with a 14-day clarification window at no additional cost — for when the NDIA delegate has follow-up questions, or when the participant or Support Coordinator wants something refined.

Fixed Transparent Pricing

Every comprehensive FCA is $2,910 including GST — billed under the relevant NDIS Capacity Building line item. SIL, SDA, ILO, STA and AT assessments are quoted up front from a transparent fee schedule. No surprise fees. No scope creep. No additional charges for split sessions, interpreter participation or remote delivery.

Plan managed, self managed and NDIA managed funding are all accepted.

How to Refer a Participant

Referrals take under 2 minutes. Submit the participant's name and contact, your details as Support Coordinator, the participant's NDIS plan, and a one-sentence summary of the assessment requested. We confirm referral acceptance within one business day and schedule the participant within five.

The participant or nominee provides consent at intake. We engage you directly throughout — confirmation, scheduling, clarification questions, draft check-in (on request) and final report delivery — so you are never the participant's only relay.

What Information We Need to Refer

Participant name, date of birth, address and primary contact details (email and phone, or nominee details if applicable).

Current NDIS plan PDF — or at minimum, plan start/end dates, funding category structure and management arrangement.

Diagnostic and clinical documentation — formal diagnosis letters, neuropsychological assessment, prior FCAs, behaviour support plans and any treating-team correspondence.

A one-paragraph referral summary — what the assessment is for (plan reassessment, SIL application, AT request, etc.), key clinical considerations, urgency drivers and any cultural safety considerations.

Support Coordinator contact details and preferred communication channel.

Sample Report Available on Request

Want to evaluate report quality before referring? We can share a de-identified sample FCA report on request — purpose-built for Support Coordinators and referral partners. Frequently Asked Questions

Support Coordinator Referrals — common questions

Do I need to be the participant's plan manager to refer them?+

No. Support Coordinators, Plan Managers, Allied Health Professionals, family members, advocates and participants themselves can refer. We accept referrals through any pathway and obtain participant or nominee consent at intake.

How quickly can a referred participant be scheduled?+

Referral acceptance is confirmed within 1 business day. The participant is typically scheduled within 5 business days, with the final report issued within 5 business days of the final clinical interview.

Is the Support Coordinator involved during the assessment?+

Yes — wherever the participant consents. Coordinators are routinely included in intake, scheduling, mid-assessment check-ins, draft review (on request) and final delivery.

Can I refer multiple participants at once?+

Yes. We routinely manage referral lists from Coordinator practices, with consolidated invoicing where preferred and a single point of contact for the whole list.

What if the participant needs more than one type of report?+

We coordinate paired assessments — e.g. FCA + SIL, FCA + SDA, plan review + Letter of Support — so the evidence tells one coherent story for the planner. Pricing is quoted up front for the package.

Do you provide accommodation, support work or any home-and-living service?+

No. FCA Reports Australia is an assessment-only provider. This independence is central to the evidentiary weight of our reports — there is no commercial incentive for any specific funding recommendation.

"Ryan and the team understood my son's autism in a way no previous assessor has. They captured the masking, the burnout cycles, the sensory side — things we have been trying to explain to NDIA for years. The funding outcome reflected that."

Support Coordinator Referrals

What people ask about Support Coordinator Referrals

What is a Functional Capacity Assessment?

A Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) is a structured clinical evaluation that documents how a person's disability affects their daily functioning, supervision needs, community participation and safety. For NDIS purposes, a Functional Capacity Assessment report translates a participant's diagnosis into the practical evidence the NDIA uses to determine reasonable and necessary funding.

Who needs an NDIS Functional Capacity Assessment?

NDIS participants typically need a Functional Capacity Assessment when applying for new funding, requesting a plan reassessment, transitioning to higher-support services like SIL or SDA, or providing evidence at an internal review or AAT appeal. Support Coordinators and Plan Managers often request an FCA to strengthen a participant's plan-build evidence base.

Can FCA Reports Australia complete assessments virtually?

Yes. FCA Reports Australia delivers Functional Capacity Assessments 100% virtually via secure telehealth, covering all Australian states and territories. Participants can be assessed from home, with parents, carers, support workers or Support Coordinators joining the same secure session where appropriate.

Are reports completed by Physiotherapists or Occupational Therapists?

FCA Reports Australia delivers Functional Capacity Assessments through an AHPRA-registered Occupational Therapy team with multidisciplinary clinical oversight from our Director team. NDIS guidance recognises both Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists as suitably qualified FCA assessors; our practice focuses on Occupational Therapy-led reports, with deep clinical depth across cognitive, sensory, psychosocial, motor and complex functional presentations.

How long does an FCA report take?

Standard NDIS Functional Capacity Assessment reports are issued within 5 business days of the final clinical interview. The full process — from initial referral to issued PDF — typically completes inside two weeks, depending on document availability and participant scheduling.

Can Support Coordinators refer participants?

Yes. Support Coordinators are encouraged to refer NDIS participants directly through the website or by emailing the secure referral inbox. A dedicated coordinator pathway is offered, including weekly status updates and direct access to the assessing clinician on request.
