Supported Independent Living is shared or individual 24/7 support funding for participants who require help with daily living tasks at home. SIL pays for support workers — not for rent or property — and is funded under Core — Assistance with Daily Life.
The NDIA increasingly scrutinises SIL applications where the assessment has been completed by the proposed provider. An independent assessor with no commercial interest in the outcome significantly strengthens the evidentiary value of the report.
