Perth is the most isolated capital city in the world, separated from Adelaide by nearly 2,700 kilometres of road. The Perth metropolitan area spans from Yanchep in the north to Mandurah in the south, and east to the foothills of the Darling Range. Within this footprint live over two million Western Australians — a substantial NDIS participant base served by a comparatively small pool of in-person specialist assessors.

Our virtual model gives Perth participants access to specialist NDIS evidence without contending with the limited in-person availability that has historically characterised the local market. Whether you live in the inner city, the western suburbs, the northern corridor, the eastern hills or the southern Peel region, the same clinician is available with the same turnaround.

Western Australia is the largest Australian state by area — over 2.5 million square kilometres, larger than most countries. The state's regional NDIS participants are spread across enormous distances, often in communities classified as Modified Monash Model 6 or 7 (remote and very remote). For these participants, in-person specialist assessment is rarely a realistic option.

Our telehealth FCA model was purpose-built for this geography. We have completed Functional Capacity Assessments for participants in the Pilbara towns of Karratha, Port Hedland and Newman; the Kimberley communities of Broome, Derby, Kununurra, Halls Creek and Fitzroy Crossing; the Goldfields around Kalgoorlie, Esperance and Norseman; the Gascoyne towns of Carnarvon and Exmouth; the South West region from Bunbury through Margaret River to Albany; and across the Wheatbelt from Northam to Merredin.

Western Australia has a substantial Aboriginal NDIS participant base, particularly across the Kimberley and Pilbara regions. Many of these participants engage with the NDIS through Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations such as the Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Service, Geraldton Regional Aboriginal Medical Service, Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service and community health centres in remote settings.

Our virtual assessment process accommodates this engagement directly. Sessions can be conducted alongside Aboriginal Liaison Officers, community workers, family members or interpreters where Kriol, an Aboriginal English variant, or a traditional language is the preferred mode of communication. Phone-based assessment, supplemented by photo collateral submitted via a nominee, is fully supported where video connectivity is limited.

The NDIA's Western Australian operations are distributed across regional partner offices in the Perth metro area, the South West, the Goldfields and the Kimberley, with state oversight from Perth. Our FCA reports are written to satisfy the national reasonable and necessary criteria and are routinely accepted across all WA planner regions.

For Perth and WA participants escalating to internal NDIA review or AAT proceedings, our reports are structured to provide the defensible, evidence-anchored functional narrative required in these forums.

Perth and WA participants have full access to every assessment service we provide. Our SIL assessments work alongside the major Perth SIL providers and emerging regional WA SIL arrangements. SDA assessments support participants moving into the growing Perth SDA market across all four design categories. Psychosocial FCAs are particularly relevant for WA's geographically isolated mental health cohort. Autism FCAs support WA autistic participants across metro and regional areas. Neurological FCAs support WA participants with ABI, MS, Parkinson's, stroke and other neurological conditions.

Many WA NDIS participants are connected to one of the state's Health Service Providers — North Metropolitan, South Metropolitan, East Metropolitan, the WA Country Health Service, or specialist services such as the Perth Children's Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Royal Perth, Fiona Stanley, the State Rehabilitation Service or the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit. Our FCAs integrate cleanly with these networks, using existing allied health and specialist evidence as collateral.

Where the participant is connected to private allied health services across the Perth metro area, we incorporate these reports as well — producing a single coherent functional narrative rather than a fragmented evidence pack.
